At “A Whole in One Golf Academy,” our mission is to empower underserved minority youth by introducing them to the enriching sport of golf. Leveraging the psychotherapeutic expertise of our founders, we combine the principles of mental health and the discipline of golf to cultivate resilience, focus, and overall well-being. We aim to provide a supportive and inclusive environment where young boys and girls can develop not only their golf skills but also the mental fortitude to navigate life’s challenges. Through this unique blend of sports and mental health guidance, we strive to inspire our participants to achieve personal growth and wholeness, just as the sport has done for our founders.

Resilience Development: A study by Schulze et al. (2019) examined the impact of golf on children’s resilience. Over three months, one group received golf training while a control group played soccer. The golf group showed a significant increase in resilience, suggesting that golf’s unique characteristics—such as the absence of direct opponents and lower time pressure—may foster mental fortitude in children.

A Whole In One offers a unique range of youth enrichment programs that use golf as a powerful tool to promote mental health, emotional resilience, and personal growth. Through initiatives like Golf for Mental Health, Life Skills Through Golf, and Golf Therapy, we help youth build emotional resilience, develop life skills, and foster a sense of community and confidence. Our Youth Golf Mentorship Program connects younger participants with role models (we call them caddies), while our Youth Golf Tournaments provide opportunities to build self-esteem and learn the values of healthy competition. By blending golf with behavioral health principles, we create a supportive environment that empowers youth to thrive both on and off the course.
